About

The mission

Forecast Georgia is the definitive portal for the Peach State's weather and climate — built to make the official National Weather Service forecast fast, clean, and highway-clear for all 159 counties, from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Golden Isles.

Georgia packs a lot of weather into one state: the Appalachian foothills and the rare North Georgia snow, the spring severe season that reaches up out of Dixie Alley, Atlanta's summer heat, Gulf-fed thunderstorms, and the occasional coastal tropical system out of Savannah. Forecast Georgia is being built to tell that whole story — county by county, region by region.

The design language

The look borrows from the American Interstate system — the reflective paper, the green guide signs, the blue service signs, the brown recreation signs, and the red-white-and-blue route shields — set in Overpass, the typeface drawn from the Highway Gothic lettering on those signs. Where its companions run on sunshine gold and russet, Georgia takes a warm red-clay paper and a peach accent — the same system, its own character.

Companions & the network

Georgia's neighbors Florida (south) and Alabama (west) are companion sites. Each hero map shows the others as interlocking puzzle pieces; click a neighbor on the map to cross the state line.
